Testimony from Towy Community Church in Carmarthen
Ann’s Testimony
My name is Ann Thomas, I’m a town councillor and I am also
the Mayoress of the Town. On the 27th August 2005 my friend rang to
ask if I wanted to go along to the tent in the park that was taking place in
Carmarthen. I wasn’t really bothered but I said I’d go along with her.
When we arrived at the tent, there didn’t seem to be a lot
happening. We were just sitting there like spare parts. Then a young man
called Jamie came to speak to us. At first we spoke about everyday things, then
it sort of came around to God.
I remember saying that I’d prayed day after day, week after
week but nothing ever happened. I was still unhappy and miserable that I no
longer prayed.
Then Jamie asked if I had asked God to forgive my sins. I
told him that I had sinned but they were small sins, I’d never killed anyone and
I wasn’t a bad person. Jamie told us that sin is sin no matter how small. It
was a sin because in God’s eyes sin was sin. Then he called a lady over to
speak to me, her name was Alison and I prayed with her asking God to forgive my
sins. Everyone was asking if we would be coming in the night, my friend didn’t
want to come so I decided to come alone.
At that time on the way home I didn’t really feel anything.
In the evening the tent was full and there were girls there from “Teen
Challenge”. They gave their testimonies but when the people started singing I
felt a love that I had never felt in my whole life. Towards the end of the
evening a lady called Marilyn started praying, she told us to ask Jesus into our
hearts and we repeated after her “Jesus wash my dirty heart clean.” I said this
prayer, and then she was inviting us down to the front. I started walking down
and as I was walking I kept saying to myself “Why am I doing this?” but
something kept saying to keep on going.
I remember standing next to a young girl and looking up at
her face, I’d never seen such joy and love on anyone’s face before and I was
saying to myself “I want some of that!” This took place on 28th
August 20005. I gave my heart to Jesus and I haven’t looked back since! I only
wish I hadn’t waited until I was 63 years old. He has changed my life so much
and I give thanks every day that I have been saved.

Testimony
Although I had
been asked before by a friend to attend a woman’s meeting, I had for one reason
or another declined.
This time however
when she asked me I did not think twice about it but accepted, because I wanted
to go.
I was not even
nervous about walking in on my own. I was made very welcome and given a coffee
and introduced to some of the other women, one of which sat next to me during
the evening. This night was one I shall remember for the rest of my life.
After listening
to Marilyn Harry the speaker, she requested that anyone who wanted prayer should
step forward. I felt I had no control over my legs as I walked to the front and
stood in front of her for healing. She asked me where my pain was and I told
her about my accident that had caused the injury to my back 4½ years ago. She
then placed her left hand on my back and prayed. I will never forget the
feeling, it was intense heat that seared through the middle of my body, she put
her right hand on my forehead and I fell to the floor. When I got up the pain
had gone. For 4½ years I had had pain and had been on medication practically
every day.
I BELIEVE
Jesus healed me. “I sought the Lord, and he healed me and delivered me from all
my pain and fears.” Thanks to the Lord Jesus for I know I have received a
miracle. I now have a pin free body and I praise Jesus for it. |
